Congratulations on your decision to get married and thank you for considering us for the exciting commission of photographing your wedding day.
We recognise how precious these moments are and it gives us genuine pleasure when delivering the photographs following the wedding to watch the recognition on the faces of the couples as memories flood back and come to life.
We are very caring and thoughtful in our work and put lots of thought into how to capture the dreams that you hold for your day. We work hard to create a “natural” feel when your day arrives, helping special moments to be photographed as we move through the day in a relaxed and sensitive manner. We find that the best photographs are easier to take when you have trust in and feel comfortable with your photographer.
It is normal for us to take a mixture of formal and reportage style photographs as well as offering the option of colour or black and white prints for most images. During the day we attempt to remain as anonymous as possible unless more formal guidance is required as can be the case with larger group shots in particular. There is also quite a lot of interaction with you and your family and friends so our approach is sensitive and reassuring while making sure that we capture the important moments and the special people surrounding your day.
An important part of our preparation involves a meeting with you at the venue some 3 weeks prior to your wedding. Just before everything gets hectic! We can then discuss the photographic opportunities, your timetable and any special considerations or images required. This is also a time when we can relax and learn more about your characters so that when we leave we are able to decide upon the type of images that pull out your relationships special qualities on the day.
Malcolm works with his wife Diane as his assistant, adding her feminine eye to arranging poses as well as helping to search out extra photographic opportunities that a second pair of eyes provides. She also looks after special photographic requests to allow Malcolm to take your photographs in a natural free flowing manner that reduces time and increases spontaneity. Diane also helps to keep everyone organised for posed shots allowing Malcolm a little spare time for extra reportage (Un-posed) shots.
Whatever you decide, we genuinely wish you well on your big day, keep smiling and leave the stress to everyone else.
We will photograph the event in a style designed to tell a warm and inviting story of your day. Taking into consideration your individual wishes. Although you may have special photographic requests for us to include this will not generally limit the shots taken. We take advantage of any interesting photographic opportunity that we see in the hope that it will be of special importance to you. Our philosophy is that there is a unique story to be told in pictures that requires care and a degree of flexibility so as to reflect the occasion at its best. It does mean that we take more reportage style than most.
We also offer the service of providing a portrait facility with portable studio lights (Location and time permitting) while your friends and family are together and dressed for the occasion.
